Adhesive Boundary Element Method Using Virtual Crack Closure Technique

چکیده
In this study, a new adhesive contact model is built upon boundary element method (BEM) developed by Pohrt and Popov (2015). The strain energy release rate (SERR) on the edge of bonding interface evaluated using Virtual Crack Closure Technique (VCCT) which shown to have better accuracy weaker mesh-size dependency than closed-form SERR formula derived Popov. A composite delamination criterion proposed for crack nucleation propagation. Numerical results predicted present are in good agreement with analytical solutions two classic problems, namely, axisymmetric parabolic sinusoidal waviness plane condition. can achieve similar where mesh grid non-conforming front. Once conforming used, their significantly deteriorated, especially at high work adhesion density. both BEM models, however, found be mesh-dependent may solved introducing an upper limit tensile normal traction.

متن کاملDual Boundary Element Method Applied to Antiplane Crack Problems
This paper is concerned with an efficient dual boundary element method for 2d crack problems under antiplane shear loading. The dual equations are the displacement and the traction boundary integral equations. When the displacement equation is applied on the outer boundary and the traction equation on one of the crack surfaces, general crack problems with anti-plane shear loading can be solved ...
